Indie Rock
The Dying Falls are a four-piece independent rock 'n' roll band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Initially conceived as a studio project of singer/songwriter Matt Axten and producer/multi-instrumentalist Mark VanMiddlesworth in 2011, The Dying Falls became a full band in 2012 with the addition of bassist Dan Thorn and drummer Ben Simon. Bound by a shared enthusiasm for 1980s New Wave, girl groups, and caffeine, The Dying Falls make energetic indie rock that ranges from the synth-driven dance-pop of their debut single “Youth Goes Bad” (2012) to the sprawling roots-rock of “Old Prisoner’s Song,” a cut off their debut EP "Driftwood" (2012).

Both the "Youth Goes Bad" single and the "Driftwood" EP can be downloaded or sampled by visiting The Dying Falls' website,, or directly from their Bandcamp site, And be sure to keep up with all things dying and falling on Facebook, at!

The Dying Falls perform regularly in and around Boston, and are currently at work on their second album as well as planning a Spring tour.
