The Dimes are a folk/pop collective centered around singer/songwriter Johnny Clay and guitarist Pierre Kaiser. The Portland, OR band is known for their lush, layered harmonies and folky avant-garde arrangements. The group has released two full-length albums and several EP’s to date, and have recently released a string of singles for use in TV/Film. The band’s debut release, The Silent Generation, garnered national attention from SPIN, Magnet, Under the Radar, NPR, USA Today, and a long list of music blogs. SPIN described it as a “sparkling pop gem”, and Skope Magazine called their music “soundtrack music of the finest degree”. NPR named Save Me, Clara (from 2010’s The King Can Drink the Harbour Dry) it’s “Song of the Day”. Continuing to work with Engineer/Producer Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Death Cab for Cutie, Menomena, Decemberists, Sleater-Kinney), The Dimes are set to release their third full-length record in the spring of 2014.
