As their name might imply, THE ASTEROIDS GALAXY TOUR are somehow less of a band than they are a many-legged, ever-evolving, constantly moving party machine. Beaming into popular consciousness with Fruit in 2008, the band released their second record, Out of Frequency in 2012.
Live, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour have continually increased their presence in the US and EU, and are a popular choice on the European festival circuit, with their a symphonic collision of big pop hooks, soaring horn sections, retro-synth flourishes, and epic beats proving them to be one of the most unorthodox and uniquely original live bands on the planet. Recently, have also expanded into new territories, with
major successful appearances in Vietnam, Brazil, Russia and the Phillippines.
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour’s vision of pop music is a kaleidoscopic, free-wheeling affair— Inspired by everything from Blaxploitation soundtracks to Primal Scream to old reruns of Dynasty, the band
has evolved from a bedroom recording project between friends into a psychedelic big band of the future.
Currently, Lars Iversen and Mette Lindberg, the creative powerhouses behind the band who invite their friends on the road when it's time to tour, are putting the finishing touches on the next record in Lars' stdio in their home town of Copenhagen, solidifying their progression to a meatier, even more irresistably danceable sound.
