It is rare that a 6 piece band can form from such organic circumstances. It's almost as if Tan Vampires were drawn together by necessity so much as desire. There is the need for brilliant musicianship to back the full-bodied constructions of seacoast New Hampshire's Jake Mehrmann's song writing. Lyrically bound to the spaces and realities of a generation, Tan Vampires music explores the subtleties of life as well as the passion and romanticism that encompasses the human experience.
Since self-releasing their debut album 'For Physical Fitness' in 2011, the band has been praised for its independent musings. NPR All Songs Considered calls the record, "well-crafted songs that soar, twist and never blend into one another".
