Sunday's Best was formed by guitarist Pedro Bonito, drummer Ian Moreno, and vocalist/bassist Edward Reyes. The trio recorded a 7" single and compilation track with recording engineer Tom Ackerman, formerly the guitarist and vocalist of Skiploader; Ackerman wound up accepting an offer to become the group's drummer, and Moreno switched to rhythm guitar. The newly constituted quartet recorded a debut EP, Where Are You Now, in 1999. Their first full-length studio release Poised to Break followed a year later. Sunday's Best went for more of an Americana sound for their second album, The Californian, issued in spring 2002. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
