About Spider & The Flies

Southend-on-Sea's Spider & the Flies is the warped analog synth brainchild of the Horrors' keyboardist Spider Webb and bassist Tomethy Furse. Inspired by the electronic experiments of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop as well as more kinetic artists like Juan Atkins, the duo recorded science fiction-tinged instrumentals including "Metallurge" and "Desmond Leslie," which were released as a limited-edition 7" by Mute Records' boutique label, Mute Irregulars, in fall 2007. Webb and Furse also remixed Radiohead's "Reckoner." Spider & the Flies worked with Add N to (X)'s Barry 7 on their debut mini-album, Something Clockwork This Way Comes, which arrived early in 2009. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
