Born in Owosso, Michigan Jon Harris, Saltine aka The Mad Rapper first came into the national spotlight in 1992 with his remake of the 60's classic "96 Tears" that featured the song's creator Question Mark on back up vocals. The single received a thumbs up from Billboard Magazine and was released on Pandisc Records. Signing with DM Records in 1997, he released an urban radio gem "The Girl Is Hot" that was added to several Miami Bass compilation cd's including Dirty South Bass on Virgin Records. The song was also featured on the Fox Television sitcom "The Loop" starring Mimi Rogers. Now crossing over into the rock/rap genre, Saltine aka The Mad Rapper has worked professionally with some of the biggest names in music such as Rick Derringer,Chuck Webb (Ramsey Lewis), Randy Walker (Janet Jackson/Babyface),Scott Kinsey (Tribal Tech) Naughty By Nature, Run Dmc, Wrecks-N-Effect, Technotronic, Information Society, Corey Hart, Question Mark & The Mysterians and many more.
