Originally a singer/rapper/songwriter from East London, Rose Hart has begun pursuing her dream of sharing her music in the Big Apple. New York has been kind to Rose with performing at various venues (including The Box , many bars around Manhattan and some in Brooklyn) and making trips to LA thanks to HYPE music to perform at Bardot and the MTV O Awards. Releasing the 'Petals and Thorns' mixtape (available for free download via the Rose Hart Music website), the EP 'The Get It' (available on itunes) produced by The Midi Mafia, it is now time for Rose to work on her material for a new mixtape, set to drop by the end of this year.
To try and describe the sound can prove to be challenging. It's origin of Hip Hop is very apparent through the rap element and clear importance of lyrical integrity. But there's no doubt that there are soul, r'n'b, pop and jazz influences lurking in every melody, harmony and hook. Working with producers from NY, Georgetown and London, the next project will prove to be an interesting one.
Featured on shows such as Jersey Shore, Punk'd, VH1's Love and Hip Hop and Mobwives and backing vocals for Drake's 'Lord Knows', the move across the Atlantic has proved to be the best move for the East Londoner. Hopefully Rose Hart's career will continue to thrive in a place that has been so supportive and conducive to a sound that speaks to people from all walks of life.
