As one of the most original and talented producers in bass music, constantly dazzling with painstaking construction, beautiful arrangements and seemingly effortless ingenuity, his music offers unique textures seldom heard in electronic music. His unmistakable signature sound and ability enables Rockwell to demolish a dance floor with one hand while soothing your soul with the other.
His inspired work includes bona fide dance floor gems such as Radio 1 favourite ‘Detroit’, ‘Tripwire’, ‘Sick Of It All’ and the outstanding ‘Constantcomplexrhythmicsound’ which sit alongside huge remixes for the likes of London Grammar, Friction & Skream, Netsky and Dominique Young Unique. Whilst his ‘Childhood Memories’ pushes the boundaries even further, delving way outside the constraints of 170bpm. As a result Rockwell has picked up support from across the bass music spectrum including Annie Mac, Mistajam, Chase & Status and Zane Lowe (‘Detroit’ blew up Zane’s studio sub live on air!).
Not only an awe-inspiring producer but a formidable DJ, Rockwell was plucked to present BBC Radio 1’s In New DJ’s We Trust show in 2013, impressing so much that in 2014 Radio 1 asked him back to present their brand new Residency show. Such is his diversity, Rockwell sets have been lighting up clubs all over the world from Amnesia in Ibiza to Glastonbury through to Boiler Room TV and as support act for the Sub Focus live UK tour. Whether he’s gracing Radio 1 or standing in front of a stadium sized crowd, his increasing tendency to drop a Rustie or a Rashad track amongst his hi-octane drum & bass has truly set him apart.
Behind the decks as in the studio, you’re always kept guessing as to what he’s going to pull out of the bag next.
