A soulful, bluesy rocker who sings from her soul and writes from her heart, Robin loves entertaining and puts it all out there whenever and wherever she is performing.
During her childhood, she was in chorus, band and orchestra playing the violin, guitar and piano. Her college years were spent at Adelphi University, Garden City, NY, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Minor in Technical Theater.
Her musical influences span all genres. Hands down, her Idol is Pat Benatar. Bette Midler is a close 2nd and Janis is at #3. But she is influenced by so many from Journey/Queen/Styx to Aretha/Etta/Billy, to Sex Pistols/Suicidal Tendencies/Beasties, to Metallica/Linkin Park/Soundgarden to Dixie Chicks/Dolly/Elvis to BB/Ray Charles/SRV to Bonnie/Susan/Hart to Lita/Heart/Stevie.
Robin has been in a number of corporate, wedding, private, cover and original bands, and over the past few years has finally settled in with her own Robin DeLorenzo Band. She has thousands of hours performing at live and taped events as well as, hundreds of hours writing and recording songs in the studio.
In 2011, Robin released her CD Wanna Fly; 9 songs written by her and each reaches deep into her life’s experiences. The CD has received glowing reviews and her song Shakey Ground was awarded a Lady Lake Indie Music Award. Robin is currently writing new material for a follow up CD due out in 2013.
In May 2012, Robin attended David Fishof’s Rock Camp in Los Angeles and performed with Robert Sarzo of Hurricane, singing I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing for Steven Tyler of Aerosmith/American Idol, who sat in the front row for the Steven Tyler Rock and Roll Show at The Playboy Mansion.
As a result of the live recording session during Rock Camp, Robin met Grammy Award winning Producer, Gary Bryant McGrath and has since become the Lead Singer for Manny Charlton Band. Manny is formerly of the world famous Scottish Rock Band, Nazareth (Love Hurts, Hair of the Dog). The band’s new CD, Hellacious was recorded with Manny on Guitar, Tim Bogert on Bass, Walfredo Reyes Jr. on Drums, Robin on Vocals and guest musicians also included Vivian Campbell on Guitar and Steven Adler on Drums. Robin co-wrote their 1st Single, It Does Something with Manny and in October, they kicked off their tour in Chihuahua, Mexico in front of 10,000 adoring fans.
Robin is a proud member of The Recording Academy and ASCAP.
