Reachback entered the first week of 2012 with a bang, winning Ourzone's band on the month before setting off to Los Angeles, California where Reachback were nominated for 3 'Artist in Music Awards' including 'Band of the Year'. While in LA, Reachback also played showcases in MTV's head offices and to Extreme Music (SonyATV).
In early April, the band took to the stage and supported McFly on the Southend date of their current “Keep Calm and Play Louder” Tour, which triggered an enormous response from fans and media.
Following the show, Reachback released their debut official video for the track ‘No One Else’ off the Wake Up EP, which was exclusively released through Ourzone Magazine, and resulted in Reachback having a double page spread in Ourzone’s April/May edition. The video was also featured on Florida based radio station, Sunset Island Music’s home page, and Blank TV. The video quickly hit over 2,000 views in the first hour, and over 20,000 views in the first week. Kerrang and MTV Networks both took interest in the video, and it is pending to be aired on both channels.
The recent success of both the McFly show and video release saw the band win Week 14 of Red Bull’s Bedroom Jam Buzz Chart. This resulted in a place for Reachback in the ‘Festival Chart’ along with 15 other bands. Out of the 15 bands, 7 of them were chosen by top judges, including Daniel P Carter of BBC Radio 1's Rock Show, to play some of the UK’s hottest festivals, including Slam Dunk, Download, Hevy and Underage Festival. Reachback were named amongst the seven, and kick off the summer with a slot on the Red Bull Stage at Slam Dunk (South)
