Over The Effect is an Post Alternative Rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. Members Ashley Barker (guitar/vocals), Aaron Kamphuis (bass), and Nate Lewin (drums) came together in May 2012, instantly clicked, and began furiously writing songs that are a blend of 90's alternative rock fused with a touch of 60's and 70's progressive and psychedelic rock. They recorded their self produced self titled EP and released it July 24th, not quite 3 months after forming. The EP has catchy choruses, huge sound, dynamics, and contrast. "Little John" is a catchy and energetic, emotionally raw and honest song, while "On The Hillside" is a tranquil spaced out instrumental that builds and swells into a chaotic ending, and "Comfort and Lies" is a heavy thundering song laced with social commentary.
