Optivion has an inquisitive range of talents. He commands a deep, dramatic and lively voice that builds drastic melancholy or extreme jovial sounds. He also easily reaches melodic notes in howls and honestly dashing words through his microphone.
Who is the madman behind the knight's armor? The keyboard player rides through dark shadows in a world of fake pop and drive through music promulgation.
Optivion has the elements of a natural artist, but it's all a component of his labor and oneness.
If you listen to his 2012 EP "Create Curiosity": One song is sad and somber, the next fierce, electric and punk like.
A complex personality with a map made of sentences his music rises from the instinct to draw moods and stay creative. At conventions he seems to share the words with vigorous enlightenment.
"Dark Knight through Dark Shadows" is my favourite album, he seems to capture a translation of visual images with music. On the songs "Solemn Mask aka Halloween Bride", "Apocalyptic Apple cider", and "Kut" (the best songs he's made so far), He informs the listener about his anger, love, and frustration in a sincere manner, but on "Slept By Your Grave", "A Twist of Gravity", and "Relampago", he turns himself inside out for the music, showing his bones, fractures, energy as well as his heart.
Even when he's not singing, he still fires electric plastic synth hooks in to the audience. The happy chorus on "Astrosword"; the Nintendo-growl on the melody. Each aspect of his expression finds equal articulation on the album, which only makes the self produced music sound more special, quick and emotional.
This crude dynamics could feed an entire album, but the EP's transience is the magnet to its appeal: the charming Optivion knows enough to leave you lying awake in low lamp-light wanting more.
