One Inch Giant was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden, by university classmates Gabriel Lugo Méndez (guitars) and Gabriel Ek (drums) in 2009. Axel Berglund (bass) and Filip Åstrand (vocals) joined soon thereafter. The first album, Malva (2011), was recorded live and mastered by Peter In De Betou. The album contains six doomy stoner rock tunes. In late 2011 drummer Gabriel Ek left the band. Jakob Strand, joined as the new drummer in early 2012, bringing a new dimension of technicality, speed and diversity to the band. The band embarked on a US tour in august 2012, recording their second album when returning home. The Great White Beyond, was released in april 2013 on Soulseller Records, and is taking on a more eclectic sound, introducing faster and more progressive elements together with more intricate vocals. In november 2013 the band embarked on their first european tour. In 2014 the band will play at the Barroselas Metal Fest, Portugal, and most definately embark on a second european tour!
