About Nina Nesbitt

Nina Nesbitt (born 11 July 1994) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Best known for her biggest hit single "Stay Out" reached No. 21 in April 2013 in the UK charts. She has released a number of EP's. Her debut single "Boy", from the EP of the same name was released in 2012 and reached number 149 in the UK Charts. In 2013, she came to mainstream attention, with "Stay Out",a catchy acoustic track with tongue-in-cheek lyrics like: "He's got a Rolling Stones T (ie: T-shirt), but he only knows one song. He thinks he's from the sixties, but he was born in 1991." The "Way Of The World EP" and single was released on 23 July 2013, as a follow-up to her first UK Top 40 single "Stay Out", it joined BBC Radio 1's 'A' list, receiving decent airplay. In August 2013, she recorded a version of Fleetwood Mac's Don't Stop for a new John Lewis advertising campaign, subsequently it charted at number 61 on 1 September in the UK Singles Chart. She featured on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge singing a cover of British singer John Newman's number one hit Love Me Again. She is of mixed descent with a Swedish mother and Scottish father. She started her music career by writing and recording songs in her bedroom and uploading the videos to her YouTube channel. She plays the guitar, piano and flute. As a child, she competed in local and regional gymnastic competitions with her primary school. Before meeting Ed Sheeran, Nina Nesbitt had chocolate brown hair and was also a teenage model. After meeting Ed Sheeran, she was invited to support him on his European tour, and was also invited to support Example after he heard her cover of "Stay Awake". She also appeared in the video for Ed Sheeran's song "Drunk". Her second EP, titled The Apple Tree, was released in April 2012 and reached #6 on the iTunes download charts after receiving airplay on BBC Radio 1, and also reached #1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. In October 2012, Nesbitt embarked on a second UK headline tour, "Boy UK Tour", in support of her debut single "Boy" and the EP of the same name. She subsequently announced the title of her next EP, Stay Out, which was released on 8 April 2013; its title track of the same name entered the charts at number 21 in April 2013; it fell to No 41 the following week. Her next EP was entitled "Way In The World" and was released on 21 July 2013. The title track was released as a single, the video for which was released on 12 June 2013. Nesbitt's next single will be a cover of the Fleetwood Mac song Don't Stop which will be used in an advert for department store John Lewis. On 6 September 2013 Nesbitt sang "Flower of Scotland" at Hampden Park before Scotland faced Belgium in a Group A World Cup Qualifier. Boy UK Tour 2012edit: On 9 October 2012, Nesbitt embarked on her second UK headline tour, this time to support the release of her debut single "Boy" under new label Island Records. The tour included support from singer-songwriter Josh Kumra and singer-songwriter Billy Lockett. The tour commenced 9 October 2012 at Oran Mor, Glasgow, Scotland and finished 18 October 2012 at Dingwalls, London, England.
