Born in Calcutta, he left India when he was just a year old to live in the U.K. Nigel first started playing the guitar at the age of 13, with a home made guitar that he made with only 3 strings. Developing his own style of playing and getting more and more into Classical, Hindi and Folk roots music. It's during this time that he composed his Guitar Concerto D25 and his original arrangement for the guitar of Beethoven "Ode of Joy" After moving to France, Rolland GR-1 Midi device on my electric guitar. Rolland GR-1 Midi device on my electric guitar. Getting more and more into composing and arranging Classical music, the need for piano, strings and other instruments became evident, the Midi device became an obvious compromise. I use metal finger picks when I play this as it gives a greater precision when you hit the string. You can also reprogram the sound to suit you aswell as setting 2 sounds for each string. "Montezuma" is a good example I set the 6 and 5 string to the toms and play these with my thumb the other strings set to pan flute and later to guitar. Another example is "Montafilan" for classical as well as "Le Fee Margot" piano. On the Album "Guitar body & soul" you will find 7 tracks, which I recorded using the GR-1 Midi device.
