Money Mark has been involved in Hip-Hop since before he can remember.. As a Miami native, It started for him in his middle school days as a student at Carol City Middle School..Money Mark got his name from friends because they say he always would come up with plans to get the extra cash. Because of his appeal to the ladies, he added Diggla, the last name of a well known porn star. During a Def Comedy Jam tour that made a stop in Miami. A family friend Joe Torri, who also hosted the event, got wind of Money Mark’s freestyles. Running behind on time, he asked Money to go out with Kid Capri and freestyle for the crowd. The response was “CRAZY”, getting the attention of a local record label Slip N Slide records. Money Mark would go on to sign with the label, assist with its national success, as well as the success of many artist known today such as: Trick Daddy, Trina, Rick Ross, Pretty Ricky, Pit Bull and the list goes on! During his stay as an artist on Slip n Slide records, Money Mark learned that being in the front was good, but there was also money to be made behind the scenes. With the ongoing success of the label, the demand for music became higher. Money began ghostwriting songs for “classic” projects such as Trick Daddy’s www.THUG.com, and Trina’s The Baddest Bitch, both of which drew platinum success. He would go on to pen hits such as, Take it To Da House, Gotta Change My Life,Shut up, etc.. Money Mark would also contribute to artist such as, Eightball & MJG, Snoop Dogg, Inner Circle,Bobby Valentino, and Pretty Ricky. Not stopping there, he contributed songs and penmanship to soundtracks such as: Drumline,South Park, Are we done yet,Osmosis Jones.. Currently, Money Mark is working with new artists Krunkadelics,Miss DadeCounty,M-Dubb as well as veterens Trick Daddy, Trina to create new and innovative music for all to continue to enjoy…
With a serious demeanor, tall frame, and clear speech, Money Mark was bound to be in front of the camera as well. Getting his first acting gig as a favor to a well known local group named Piccolo, Money Mark immediately knew that acting could make another route to his success. He was asked to play a friend of the group who was then murdered because of gang violence.”I did such a great job acting in the video, that people were coming up to me in the streets saying they heard I was dead,” says Money Mark. The video sparked a lot of interest by local directors as well as artist who wanted him in their videos. He would go on to do “Round Here” by Trick Daddy, playing a “hustler”, as well as Trick Daddy’s “Thug Holiday” as a soldier. He went on to host dvd projects such as Slip n Slide all-star weekend, as well as hosting for local video shows “The Box”, and “Video Mix”. But his biggest role of all came when he was asked to play Marcus Dorsey in the Miami-based hood classic “Bloodline: The Sibling Rivalry”. The movie which was intended to be a local classic, ended up getting Money Mark acting fame in almost every hood in America. Money Mark is currently working on a few independent films as well as one of his own that he co-wrote entitled “The Casting”..
