New York City-based Milly Beau, fronted by the sultry voice of MaryBeth Doran, fuse their collective influences to create a unique, well-balanced synthesis of Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul. The band calls the genre “jitty-pop.” Co-created by Doran and Aaron Leeder in Washington DC, Milly Beau is inspired as much by Erikah Badu as they are by Wilco. Their songs sound like a Friday night hustle meets Sunday morning reprieve. They have garnered a sweet buzz in the Big Apple to date, particularly in the Lower East Side, where the group frequents venues such as the Living Room, Mercury Lounge, and Rockwood Music Hall. Maintaining an emphasis on fervent songwriting, they continually push the boundaries of their music in front of new audiences. They've matured in sound from their debut release "Party Glitter," which has received much critical acclaim from the likes of Glamour, Blackbook Magazine, and Vogue Italia.
