Acclaimed for her pure voice and powerful range, Malynda Hale has never been afraid to bare her soul for the sake of her art. Penning her first song at age nine and taking her fans on the exciting journey through her adult life—the challenges of the music industry, discovering herself, losing and finding love—the singer’s heart and passion for her art are evident in every song she writes.

“Music has always been the biggest part of me. When I think of songs that stick most with me, they’re the ones that come from the singer’s heart. That’s what I try to do with my music— each piece I sing and write comes from my heart and my experiences.”

Malynda has described The Train Ride Home, her most recent, widely popular album, as the project she has “never been more proud of.” The record got her signed with Soul Shine PR Agency and received high praise and incredible reviews from Blog Critics, Urban Flux Magazine, Nerdy Boi Media and The Birmingham Times.

“A singer/songwriter inspired by Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw as well as Alicia Keys comes forward with a sound reflecting urban styles for a new urban sensibility. A high energy charmer for kids comfortable with multi cultural streets, this set rests easily in the gulf between pop and soul that’s going to have to make the tastemakers come up with a new name for this kind of sound that addresses unity rather than separation. Hale rocks. ”

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, California, Malynda grew up singing gospel music in a small church. She was later classically trained, receiving a degree in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University. Post college, she toured the West Coast before taking her talents to New York City. Whether it’s singing the National Anthem at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, performing at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay (opening for Tyrone Wells and Ernie Halter), or putting on a show at one of the many New York City venues, her voice can’t hide the similarities she shares with India Arie, Heather Headley and greats like Whitney Houston.

“As a songwriter, her lyricism exudes with unyielding compassion that’s uplifting and her warmth captures the intimacy of her life experiences is appropriate for any setting. Malynda has a winner with this album, her sound is rich and heartfelt lyrics are a perfect combo which makes this an attractive mix of music to listen too.”

Malynda’s vibrant music has been streamed on reputable indie music stations like Jango Airplay, Spotify, Revolt Radio, BWD Radio, Rhythm Rave Radio, KC Cafe Radio, Flo Empire Radio and Butterflies Radio. Her songs "Blue Eyes", "City Lights", “In Love” and “Crazy Inside” were also accepted into the Crucial Music Catalogue, a music licensing company known for placing songs in Oscar-winning films, Emmy-award winning television shows and national commercials.

In 2012, Ms. Hale temporarily relocated to Chicago, where she signed with Actors Talent Group and was inducted into the Recording Academy. She was also most notably accepted onto the Grammy Ballot for consideration for the 55th Grammy Awards.

Malynda, who is a proud vegan, was thrilled to be named the spokesperson for the vegan makeup company, Valana Minerals. “I'm so proud to be the face of this company and recommend their product to anyone looking for a natural makeup alternative.”

Taking some time to include acting into her busy life, Malynda recently shot the indie film Oranges alongside Brant Daugherty of the ABC Family Show, Pretty Little Liars and worked with friend Lena Leon to record the theme song for the film. She was also cast in two webseries: SarahNormal and Nine Lives each debuting this year. She is also starring in the upcoming Indie film The 4th Meeting, which is being filmed in Chicago.

Malynda continues to write and perform music around the country, work on film and TV projects and even takes time to cook her husband vegan meals.
