Written largely in the spring and summer of 2013 on a four-track recorder in a bedroom before the band went off to work, Modern Accent captures the strum of eggs and orange juice, melodies about nights with heads down on the bar, infused with a dollop of Coppertone, Sunkist and sweat. There’s a blend of influences in this New York sound - the combing through of decades of dusty vinyl guitar-pop has been simmered in the sweltering sun into six cohesive and memorable songs. Little Racer formed in 2011, quickly catching the attention of BBC Radio, the NME and NYLON with their first single, “Split For The Coast”, released by UK label, Young and Lost Club. The band toured the UK in early 2012 in support and spent the remainder of the year gigging regularly in New York. With Modern Accent, Elliot Michaud, Ish Nazmi and Wade Michael have confidently found their sound.
