About Lannie Battistini
Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he naturally loved music from the tender age of 5 and developed his gift when his grandmother bought him a small piano, in which he would mimic and play all the tunes he heard on the radio.
By the age of 15, and never having taken one music lesson, his mother was booking him to entertain guests at hotels and private events.
When he was 19 yrs. of age, he was accepted at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and by 23 yrs. of age, he finished his studies, majoring in Arranging and Composition with minor in Film scoring, and piano as his main instrument.
After his Berklee years, Lannie worked 100% in the music industry, never compromising or tempted to work in any other field other than music, paying his dues in a tough industry. He stuck at it out even during hard times until he developed his career in what it is today.
For a while, he also lived in Los Angeles, where he was involved in productions with Kenny Passarelli, bassist for Elton John and produced for the record label, Acid Jazz Records.
In 1994, he opened his own company LKB music which later in 2000 changed to Hands in Motion Music Production and Ad media. He combined music, with music productions, arranging, compositions, consulting, marketing / Publicity and recording studio thus creating a One-Stop-Shop for the Indy Artists.
Following his Latin heritage, he is known for his unique eclectic style incorporating all Latin rhythms with Jazz, R & B , Pop and other music genres to all his original compositions. What many do not know about Lannie is that he can perform many different music genres as if they were 1st nature.
Throughout the years, he has performed at many festivals and concerts such as; Heineken, Ventana Al Jazz Fest, San Juan Puerto Rico, The Borinquen Jazz Fest, Rumbeando Jazz and Picante Jazz Concert Series, Jazz del Patio Concerts in Puerto Rico, St. Pete Fridays Jazz Concert Series,(WSJT 91.4), Miami at WDNA's Fine Arts Concert Series, Clearwater Jazz Holiday Fest, St. Armand Jazz Fest of Sarasota, Florida Summer Fest 2008, the Florida State Fair 2008 and 2009 and "Viva la Musica", at Seaworld, Orlando and Busch Gardens-Tampa; The Dali Museum & The Mchaffey Theater, just to name a few.
In the 30 years dedicated to his music, he has won numerous recognitions, certificates and awards for his song-writing abilities as well as his performances. He has had the honor to share live stages as pianist/keyboardist with known legendary Latin artists and groups such as: Jose Feliciano, Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo, Dave Valentin, Papo Vazquez, Rie Akagi, Humberto Ramirez, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, Pedro Guzman, just to mention a few.
Lannie also toured throughout the US and Latin America for internationally known Latin Pop artists such as Ednita Nazario, Victor Manuel and Olga Tanon.
While touring with Olga Tanon, Lannie participated in the 2000 Grammy Winning Album which won as the Tropical Album of the Year, "Olga Viva, Viva Olga", recorded live at the "House of Blues" in Orlando, Florida.
At present, Lannie has headquartered his business in Tampa Bay, Florida as he continues to perform live as well as keeps busy with productions and his business.
Lannie produced his very own and first CD Album, "Hands In Motion- Latin Jazz," which was released in 2009 which sold over thousands of copies and was top 10 at over 33 Jazz radio stations across the nation, and Latin America, Japan, Canada and others. His 2nd CD Album, "En la Cima" (At the Top) released in April 2011 and by the end of 2013 he will be releasing his 3rd Latin Jazz Album, "Nomenclatura" through his own Indy Label, Hands in Motion Music.
Lannie's God-given gift as a piano virtuoso, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, composer and songwriter can only convey to the listener what is the true meaning of letting the love for music flow from his Creator through his fingertips.
