On her first new solo album in 3 years, LA singer-songwriter Kyler England strikes out into bold new territory with a collection of 10 emotionally charged songs and a vivid sonic palette equal parts organic and electronic on Electric Hum.

Produced by Bill Lefler (Ingrid Michaelson, Cary Brothers, Laura Jansen), "the sound of Electric Hum, like the name itself, came out of a fascination with the tension and beauty that's created when you put organic instruments like a voice and piano next to electronic ones like programmed drums and synths.  The collaborations I've done with DJs in the last few years revealed a different side of my voice that I wanted to explore" says England of her new record which was paid for 100% by fan contributions through a highly successful PledgeMusic campaign.

Electric Hum hit iTunes on 10.25.11 and went humming straight into the Singer-Songwriter chart Top 30.  It was named #1 Indie Album of 2011 by and included in Amazon's Digital-Only Faves of 2011.

In 2009 England took a hiatus from her solo career to focus on her band The Rescues upon being signed to Universal Republic.  The band released the critically acclaimed album Let Loose The Horses in 2010 and toured the country in support of it.  “It was a whirlwind couple of years,” she says.  “When I had some quiet time in January 2011, the songs started pouring out. There's a hopeful and uplifting thread running through the entire record, they're all very close to my heart."

Winner of the 2011 International Songwriting Competition Electronica category, England’s songs have appeared in numerous TV shows including Grey's Anatomy, Vampire Diaries, Private Practice, One Tree Hill, Switched At Birth, Ghost Whisperer, Army Wives, as well as feature film “The Lucky Ones“.  Having toured the country many times over, England has opened for the likes of Sting, Annie Lennox, Avril Lavigne, and Kelly Clarkson, and played the Toronto and Sundance Film Festivals.  American Idol Top 10 Winner, Didi Benami performed England's song "Lay It On Me" in stadiums across the country summer 2010.  Her collaborations with DJs have been featured on Armin van Burren's  "A State of Trance" compilations and radio shows.

Following up on Electric Hum's success, in May 2012, England released a new EP The Spare Key Sessions where she reworks several songs from Electric Hum with acoustic arrangements, thickened with a string section. Saying that her favorite kind of songs are “the ones where smart and heart meet... where the lyrics and music are both meaningful and moving,” the new stripped down arrangements draw the listener to the intimate and intelligent lyrics and England’s emotional and bittersweet delivery. The Spare Key Sessions was released digitally on Tuesday, 5/29, and featured as "New & Noteworthy" on the Singer/Songwriter page on iTunes.
