About Kidz Musiq Club
Kidz MusiQ Club: Jazzing Up Learning! (jazz for kids), is an original music and education component. A mix of swing, blues, and Latin style songs from an amazing mom, dad and son trio. You’ll fall in love with the acoustics and catchy melodies of songs that promote learning and having fun through music.
"Necessity may be the mother of invention, but we all know mothers often invent out of necessity – usually to maintain their sanity. For singer/songwriter Renée Collins Georges, trying to stave off a mounting tantrum from her 3-year-old son as they drove to school one morning, spawned the creation of 'The Calendar Song.' "[It] was the genesis for what was to become the Kidz MusiQ Club album" (Divaluscious.com).
"Singing comes naturally to [Renée]. She grew up in southern California in a house full of music. From gospel to jazz, it was always in the air. She knew she wanted a career in music and she found one. She spent nearly a decade seeing the world and performing with Ray Charles as a Raelette" (Divaluscious.com).
"Following in the footsteps of many entrepreneurial mommas before her, most notably Baby Einstein’s Julie Clark, Georges added a few more hats to her wardrobe: executive producer, conductor, caterer, talent wrangler [brand development] and illustrator as she wrote and produced her first album" (Divaluscious.com).
Renée Georges’ son, niece, and a group of her son’s friends add swinging vocals, making it enjoyable for parents and even more appealing to young children. You’ll find yourself playing this CD with an arrangement based on Benny Golson’s “Blues March,” some Latin influence, and “light-hearted” blues, more often than you can imagine. A family affair, the music is arranged by her husband, trombonist DuPor Georges. Fantastic to share in the car with the baby or kids, this CD is one that parents will enjoy every bit as much as children. Vivid anime artwork, photos of the kids in the studio and refreshing lyrics makes it a cool and meaningful gift for all ages.
Producing quality music for children is the reason for the “Q” in the name Kidz MusiQ Club, and Georges stands true to this purpose. “The Calendar Song,” “Junk Food Blues” and the “Spanish Numbers Song” showcase originality, story-telling, strong composition and outstanding musicianship. Her lovely voice brings a fresh sound to her new and growing philosophy which is “Kidz + music + education = Jazzing up Learning!”
