Kickstart the Season are an exciting pop punk/alternative rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Their music has often been described as both energetic and catchy.
The band formed in August 2011 and immediately began playing live shows around Dublin as well as writing for their first EP.
Their first release, a four track EP entitled It’s a Thing, It Happened! was recorded in Trackmix Studio in Blanchardstown in November and released in February 2012. The EP featured the single Take Me Out, which was mixed and mastered in Montreal by producer Luc Tellier, who has worked with acts such as Simple Plan and The Mission District.
The band made it’s radio debut on Spin 103.8 just days after Take Me Out was released.
Their second single BestDamnThing was recorded in the reputable Manor Park Studios with acclaimed producer Neal Calderwood who has worked with local heavyweights Jody Has a Hitlist, Home Star Runner, Emily, Steer Clear amongst many others over the past few years.
To support the release of the song, Kickstart The Season embarked on their first ever mini-tour, with In Elegance and Boy Versus Romeo, playing to audiences in Belfast, Dublin and Cork.
The band capped off what was a successful first year together by making their television debut in December, performing BestDamnThing on Irish television station TG4’s Ponc XL programme.
Kickstart the Season have big plans for 2013, and hope to begin work on their second EP sometime this summer.
