She's been called the female Ray LaMontagne , and often compared to Alison Krauss, but Kelli Johnson is defining her own style of music. In 2008, she released her first solo project, and hasn't stopped! Her song from that album "Somebody in Alabama Loves You" has beed recorded by The Bluegrass Soul Pickers, Pam Thrower and Shine, and Swiss Recording artist Rick Harris, and caught the recognition of Herd Records CEO Angela Prince. Johnson continued to work with Herd Records in Mobile as a songwriter, with several of her songs being featured in regional and national TV commercials, and she also wrote "Brand New Day" which became the campaign song for 2010 Alabama Gubernatorial Candidate Judge Roy Moore . In 2011 she won the Alabama State Texaco Country Showdown, and in 2013 released a Praise and Worship single on iTunes- "You Are My Everything" . Her newest single, "Over My Head" recently won Grand Prize in the 2013 Nashville International Summer Songwriting Series hosted by Paramount Song. It was also featured on the Phil Mack International Country Music Show ,broadcasting in Ireland, the UK, and parts of Germany. Her music has been featured in National TV commercials, Independent Films, political campaigns, and recordings by other artists. Much more than an artist, she is also a promoter of original talent in and around her . She has produced and hosted several of her own TV programs - "Kelli's Acoustic Crossroads", "Kelli Johnson LIVE" ,and " Picking and Singing with The Distant Cousins" -which highlighted artists and their music. Kelli is also Associate Producer and frequent guest of the Dugger Mountain Music Hall, which is broadcast on The Heartland, The Walk, WEAC TV 24, WMJN TV 29, and APT!
