London based trio BEASTS have been honing their craft for the last couple of years in rehearsal spaces, building on a foundation made from admiration for the likes of The Pixies, Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine and Queens of the Stone Age. The influences and inspriation taken from the aforementioned acts sowed the seeds for what has become their debut, self-titled EP. Produced by the band themselves, alongside acclaimed producer Bill Gautier (The Cure), the four track affair clocks in under the 20 minute mark and serves as a fitting introduction. Be it the roomy groove-laden ‘Everybody Knows’, the infectious refrain of ‘Shades Of Blue’, the broody ‘Sub Rosa’ or the soaring closer ‘Drowning’, there’s no shortage of promise on display. Beasts have recently supported Miles Kane and Dinosaur Pile-Up and have so far had national radio play on the XFM Rock Show with Ian Camfield. Beasts were also picked as band of the week by Rocksound magazine after their feature in the introducing section of the July issue.
