Kanye West's got an empire-sized ego, so it's only natural that he'd make the biggest landmark of the VMAs, the Empire State Building. After the 2007 VMAs, he ranted about his performance venue, complaining that he should have been on the main stage instead of a small suite, and reportedly claimed that he would "never return to MTV." Yet he returned in '08 to perform "Love Lockdown." Just like the Empire State Building, it looks like Yeezy will always be present.
