Jolina Magdangal-Escueta (born Maria Jolina Perez Magdangal, November 6, 1978) is a Filipina actress, singer, TV host, entrepreneur and role model. She is mostly known for being a pop icon because of her fashion sense, music and work morals.
During the 1990s, she was mostly known as a household name of ABS CBN as part of the weekday afternoon children gag variety show Ang TV which was known as a homegrown show with the most talented young actors. She was casted on the '90s Saturday afternoon TV series Gimik with ex-leading man Marvin Agustin from 1997 to 2000. Her last TV series with her home network was Labs Ko Si Babes (1999-2000) a primetime weekday sitcom with Magdangal as the main character and Arriba-Arriba, a Saturday comedy show where she is the lead comedienne.
Her popularity was mostly known for her success in business. In the fashion industry she is known for having her own doll inspired by her in designs; it was known as the "Pinoy Barbie of the '90s" and had rapid sales (approximately 30,000 units were sold). She has a three octave lyric mezzo-soprano voice.

She was born on November 6, 1978 in St. Lukes Hospital, Quezon City, Philippines. Her father Generoso "Jun" Magdangal Jr. and her mother Paulette Perez-Magdangal lived together with two other siblings Melanie and Jonathan Magdangal. Her exposure started unintentionally when her parents let her audition for Ryan Cayabyab's musical group, 14K. Luckily, she was accepted and polished her talents as singing, dancing, acting, etc.
Johnny Manahan spotted Jolina in their last performance and asked her to guest sitcom Mana. When found with potential, she was asked to join Ang TV. It took a better turn, changed her life and became famous. She was featured in different TV programs and movies. She became as regular cast of Abangan Ang Susunod Na Kabanata, 'Sang Linggo nAPo Sila, Onli In Da Pilipins, ASAP, Richard Loves Lucy etc. Her mainstay in ASAP" where she displayed her singing and dancing talents as well as her hosting ability were enhanced. Her TV soap Labs Ko Si Babes became a hit and riding high on rating charts. All her TV programs obtain high ratings ranging from comedy to drama and music. From TV, she ventured out to movies. Her first movie Hataw Na! was a big hit following by several box office hit movies.
From ABS-CBN, she transferred to GMA Network. She filmed several movies and soap operas such as I Luv NY with Marvin Agustin. She hosted Starstruck Kids, Starstruck 2 and has she permanent share in S.O.P Rules. Her songs were also used by some TV soap like Maybe It's You in the Asianovela Kim Sam Soon.

Jolina's accomplishments speak for themselves. She is the only artist and celebrity of her time to have accumulated an unprecedented number of awards from the academic, civic, government and entertainment sectors. She is very selective in the movies she makes but these are proven to be consistent box office hits. Jolina is one of the very few showbiz personalities who has maintained her clean and wholesome image and lifestyle. Her bankability as a record artist remains unquestionable because of the multi-platinum record awards she has received. Her television programs never fail to obtain high ratings and attract advertisers. In fact, she herself is an effective commercial model with more than 50 product endorsements. Also an entrepreneur by heart, she established and saw the expansion of her Jolina's Fashion Gallery shops in the country and overseas.
At a young age, she has successfully filled up large concert venues nationwide, in the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, The Middle East and Asia. With no big name guests, her very successful, full house Jolina Mania concerts at the Araneta Coliseum and Cuneta Astrodome have proven once again her immense popularity and credibility as a concert artist. She also climbed several notches higher than her showbiz contemporaries when she was designated by the then president Joseph Ejercito Estrada as the country's first National Youth Advocate. She is currently hosting The Working President, a weekly newsmagazine TV program of the president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. She has also worked together with former president Corazon C. Aquino in The Children's Hour. She continues to be the youth role model as she relentlessly pursues humanitarian and civic endeavors for the youth and the less fortunate. These have also earned her numerous accolades including the much coveted Catholic Mass Media Award.
Jolina was able to establish herself firmly as a multi-media and multi-awarded artist. She remains to be a very influential force to a wide market and an institution in the country's entertainment industry. She has become a household name that will be etched in the consciousness of many Filipinos for a long time.
In 2002, she was part of GMA-7's Sunday variety show SOP. In 2003, Jolina Magdangal moved to rival station, GMA 7. The network was revamped in 2003 with more primetime TV series; she was part of the primetime soap Narito Ang Puso Ko from 2003 to 2004. She was also part of the weekend afternoon drama Kahit Kailan.
In 2004, she was host of the reality television talent search popularly known as StarStruck (Philippine TV series) and StarStruck Kids. In 2007 she finished her hosting duties on the reality franchise.
She did a film titled Annie B, a remake of the 1980 film and popular song, under Viva Films with Dingdong Dantes as her leading man.
In 2005, she became part of the morning news program Unang Hirit until her hiatus in 2009. She was cast as Jasmine on the series Love to Love (TV series). In 2006, Magdangal was paired with leading man Marvin Agustin in the high rated primetime romantic comedy I Luv NY.
In 2008, she was a judge on Pinoy Idol. The show has not reported for another season or a cancellation. It paved her way as a comeback to afternoon weekend programming she was part of Dear Friend -- letter writers send in stories about life and difficulties on love; she was host with Marvin Agustin. The series ended in 2010 and was nominated in many given bodied awards by Star Awards and PMPC throughout its run.
In 2009, she was part of Adik Sa'Yo. The primetime series became high rated and had a DVD release in October 2009, two months after its finale.
In 2010, she became part of the children's primetime series and sequel to the 2009 MMFF Best Picture Panday Kids; a fairy godmother on the primetime series Grazilda; and she became part of the revamp of S.O.P. renamed as Party Pilipinas.
In 2011, she became part of Iglot which served as a reunion for her and Claudine Barretto after 11 years.
In 2011, she married Rivermaya's drummer Mark Escueta twice. First, November 19 at a very private affair in Tagaytay, then, at the Splendido Taal Golf and Country Club also in Tagaytay on November 21, 2011
