Discovered by Akon in 2011, Ion Nova (formally known as ISSA) is an American singer, songwriter and producer born in Senegal, West Africa.
Chosen from a line up of 40,000 online musicians, his dream finally came true when he received a call from Akon's camp stating that The Superstar wanted a meeting. In fact, Akon had heard Ion Nova's modern rendition of Bob Marley's classic hit "Is This Love" and was so impressed with the young talent that his team decided to fly Ion Nova from Portland to Atlanta.
Akon took Ion Nova under his wings, signing him to a single's deal for a year. During that year, the young upcoming artist got to sharpen his skills, performing around the world alongside Akon and opening for some of the biggest stars on the planet like Kesha and LMFAO.
Following the Independent movement, Ion Nova is now CEO if his own label, Mr. Supernova and launching a series of singles, developing his international fan base and also mastering the business of music. His sound is a smooth mix of Pop/R&B/Reggae delivered in English, sometimes French and Wolof.
