Instant People, a Los Angeles based indie band with crossover potential, is the musical fruition of Cal Campbell, Ry Jarred and Siggy Sjursen.
Siggy Sjursen (bass) is a multi-instrumentalist who has professionally played with bands as diverse as Poe and Powerman 5000 and was also the musical director for Solange Knowles.
Ry Jarred (vocals, guitars) – I don't have any good info for Ry
Cal Campbell (drums) is the son of Country legend Glen Campbell. Cal is a multi-instrumentalist who also honed his passion for engineering and production.
The three friends became the band that would back Cal's father on his Goodbye Tour. For the past 2 years they have been playing to sold out venues around the world, US talk shows – Leno, Conan, and Ellen as well as UK shows – I forgot the name of that big one, the Grammy Awards, and The United States Library Of Congress. Not only were they the band for Glen but Instant People opened a majority of the shows. It during these shows that they knew they were onto something.
Their music has been synced for network television, and in the UK they have had early support form Janice Long and have appeared live on Dermot O' Leary's show.
The boys have no problem when asked “What is the sound of the band?” quickly firing back that anyone that likes Phoenix, Arcade Fire, name something eclectic like Here we go magic (you need something Nigel-ish) will love IP.
They are currently finishing production and mixing their debut album “Play and Rewind” with Howard Willing (Smashing Pumpkins, Ok Go) and are preparing for a 2013 release.
They've had early support from Dermot O' Leary appearing on his Radio show in the UK and had early support from Janice Long on BBC Radio 2.
