Since self-releasing their vinyl LP We Are Strange Loops in 2010, N.Y.C.-based duo Innergaze garnered critical acclaim and an active following for their hallucinatory analog sound adventures and strong visual live shows. Being a musical collaboration as well as partners, Jason Letkiewicz (aka Steve Summers, Manhunter) and video artist Aurora Halal created the hazy and psychedelic house 12” “Shadow Disco” for the Not Not Fun offshoot dance label 100% Silk in 2011. The title track was regarded as a future left-field disco classic with its kaleidoscopic and uneasy house rhythms.
Drawing influences from Detroit techno, Chicago house, and early-'80s electro, industrial, and Italo, the pair used mostly analog synthesizers and drum machines to create their raw and futuristic sound. In 2012 they released a "minimal synth" record for Veronica Vasicka's Minimal Wave sub label Cititrax, entitled Mutual Dreaming. ~ Aneet Nijjar, Rovi
