that mission has allowed isis and the band to grace the stages of premiere venues and events across the country, such as the Knitting Factory, Santos Party House, DROM (New York), the historic First Avenue (Minneapolis), and the Watts Festival (Los Angeles). they have also opened up for a wide range of artists and speakers, including jessica Care moore, Wyclef Jean, Dr. Cornel West, Ursula Rucker, Firewater and India.Arie.
isis, herself, has been featured as Soul Train’s artist of the month, following her debut video “Drive Me” on Comcast On-Demand. of Liberian parents, the Newark-born, Minneapolis-raised phenom is also winner of the 2012 National Poetry Awards winner for Spoken Word Single/Performance of the Year” for her single, “I Saw You”.
Brooklyn-based, she and the band are currently putting the final touches on their highly anticipated debut album, amazingly random, due June 2014. The album’s single “All of Me” will be released April 22 in advance of the project.
