Hedva and David was the name of an Israeli band which was founded in 1965 and split up in 1973. The members of the group were Hedva Amrani and David Tal (Rosenthal).
In 1965 the band published their first album, "Tzemed Zimrei Am," which included 12 different songs including folk songs in various languages. The album was re-published in 2001 with bonus material.
In 1970 the band had an economic success after winning the World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo with the song Hebrew song "Ani Holem al Naomi" ("I dream of Naomi"), originally composed by Tirtzah Atar and David Kribushei. This song reached second place on the Israeli Annual Hebrew Song Chart of Kol Yisrael in 1971. The band composed a Japanese language version of the song which was sold in 1971, selling in the hundreds of thousands. The Japanese version, titled "Naomi no Yume" ("A dream of Naomi"), remains one of the Best-selling international singles in Japan of all time.
