About Hayden Calnin
Since releasing his independent debut EP ‘City’ in 2012 Hayden has supported the likes of Tom Odell, Matt Corby, Willy Mason, Oliver Tank and Missy Higgins. He’s played various large festivals across Australia and has received significant attention with international syncs for his songs on ‘Suits’, MTVs ‘Awkward’ and new CW series ‘The 100’.
Hayden released his sophomore EP ‘Oh, Hunter’ in early 2014. The result was a new set of songs beautifully crafted, driven by Hayden’s unique vocals and progressive folk production. Led by singles ‘Coward’ and ‘Comatose’, ‘Oh, Hunter’ was met with critical acclaim and followed with various sold out single and EP launch shows.
With a varied list of musical influences, including artists such as Low, The Swell Season, DeYarmond Edison and genres ranging from 1930s rock ‘n’ roll to electronica, Hayden’s music manifests itself as honest storytelling with a progressive edge. Heartfelt vocals showcase a range that walks a steady pace from sweet, tip toeing falsettos to warm and husky lower ranges that belt out raw lyrics.
Hayden is currently working on his debut album which he hopes to release in 2015.
