About Grown Up Avenger Stuff
When fresh on the scene at the end of 2009 the band started to get accolades immediately such as best female vocalist in 2010 by Creative Loafing magazine. Singer Deirdre Kroener brings both soft pretty and power vocal performance to drive their unique sound: loosely based on the standard garage power trio style with a sprinkle of punk, a touch of glam, a slice of metal, a bucket of energy, often building into a tower of volume.
Growing rapidly in popularity, and perhaps unique enough to be the only band of it's kind, clear influences from the very best are discernable in their music: The Beatles, The Police, Silversun Pickups, Rage Against The Machine, Weezer, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, and more - giving the listener an instant connection to the familiar, while introducing a a fresh and energetic sound.
Fast forward to Summer '12: Chosen out of over 400 bands to represent US in Canada tour, and then touring the US coast to coast including a spot at revered music festival Bele Chere (300k attendees), the band has been relentlessly growing fans and introducing their newest CD: Alive. Next up for the band? A bit more studio work, a world class video, and some fantastic show dates.
Whether putting in time and energy for numerous charities or spreading the music on fun indie tour jaunts, the band is focused on improving the world and also being your new second favorite band!
