Green Street is a hip-hop/jazz group, consisting of emcees A-live and Soupa and producer Renaissance. Originally from Boston, MA and now residing in Brooklyn, NY, they are always trying to push the boundaries of hip-hop music. By using everything from samples to live instrumentation, Green Street brings back the sound from the Native Toungues-era while still keeping it fresh and relevant for today’s audience.
Often compared to the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots, Green Street brings a positive energy with their music, fusing true school hip-hop rhetoric with soulful jazzy backdrops. In 2011, Green Street released two critically acclaimed albums with Don’t Look Down and Endless Summer. The albums were featured in XXL Magazine, Vibe Magazine, Okayplayer, 2Dopeboyz, HipHopDX, OnSmash, among other major media outlets.
Green Street has shared the stage with hip-hop heavyweights such as Lupe Fiasco, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Dom Kennedy, Yelawolf, Skyzoo, and Nyle among others.
