Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, prolific gospel singer/rapper, Govenor Reiss traveled a rocky road that ultimately led him to his purpose. Govenor Reiss’s story is that of a young man who had lost it all and is now getting everything due to him through Christ and is using hip hop as his preferred method of expression. After staring at death in the face more than once, he rose and became an empowering musician whose accolades include a collaboration with New Orleans’ own internationally known jazz artist, Donald Harrison. He’s had 2 songs feature on the national compilation album, ‘Young Lions’ of Big Head Records in Los Angeles which was produced by two time Grammy Award winner Darius J. Reiss has worked with New Orleans native and producer, D.J Raj Smooth, and became the voice of a hit jingle that was on the forefront of the ‘Clean Up New Orleans Campaign. Reiss’s melodic, captivating, soulful, unique, and diverse sound rings loud and clear to every ear they reach. His hope is to continue to empower others through his music while ultimately exalting the name of his savior, Jesus Christ.
