Elsie Lie Lek Chee was a Singaporean woman who was the subject of a murder case which took place at Jurong West, Singapore. Her boyfriend, Gabriel Lee, was later charged with murder for Lie's death. In July 2013, the case, referred to by the media as the Jurong West murder, was described as one of "Singapore's most gruesome murders".

Early life and education:
Elsie Lie Lek Chee was born in around 1987. The first of three children, her father is handyman Lie Yong Song and her mother is Lie Yok Mooi (née Chen). She dropped out of school during her second year of junior college at Jurong Junior College. She went on to work as a site administrator with a salary of a thousand dollars per month.
Lie had been living at a rented apartment in Jurong West for a period of time. She had previously been staying at her parents' residence, which was also situated in the area. In late March 2012, shortly after getting engaged to boyfriend Gabriel Lee Haw Ling, who lived with her, Lie was slashed several times by Lee in the middle of the night. Her eyeballs were dug out and thrown out of the window, along with a few other body parts. The couple were reportedly squabbling before the murder occurred and police intervention was needed to calm the fight, which resumed after the police left.
Investigations and aftermath:
The Singapore police was tipped-off about the incident by a Bangaldeshi in the early morning following the murder. Some twenty pieces of evidence were taken from the crime scene. Lee was promptly arrested and charged with Lie's death in April 2012. The case, referred to by the media as the Jurong West murder, was described by Joshua Tan and Ilsa Chan of xin msn as one of "Singapore's most gruesome murders" in July 2013.
