As a solo artist Erwin broke into the pop scene in 2010, having his singles played on Irish and Eastern Europe’s radio stations, having a headlining tour across Germany, Russia and Ukraine, with some additional dates in Dublin and Cambridge. In 2012 he recorded his first studio album, which he is currently promoting in London through performances in Islington, West End and Mayfair as well as having planned upcoming gigs in London gay pubs and clubs.
He calls his style simply GG-pop (girly-gay pop), because his music is hugely inspired by the music of 80s, Abba, Madonna, Kylie, and also by classical music. “I think that is why it’s so easy for me to come up with a catchy hook and a right mood” – he says.
Erwin is a big perfectionist; he always controls everything about his art and career. He is not only a composer and arranger of his songs, he directs his music videos, comes up with choreography, and thinks about his clothes and hairstyle. “It just happens automatically, as I hate pretending, I want to be just myself, and this is the real me.”
