By the age of 18 wanting to push his passion even further, he formed a group called YBG, which is an acronym for Young Brash & Gifted. Something he and his friend's (Manny, Greg, Cesaer, Ludovino & Anthony) felt embodied who they were and their generation of Latin American Artists.
Coming from a back block of Washington Heights (Wadsworth Terrace Ave) Eckz has always felt that it was part of his character to reveal a new story. A different type of underdog. Washington Heights, itself, is spoken of second hand and never given that chance to be heard as individual part of New York City.
Songs like "Miss Again" featuring Audubon & Reyna as well as Ray Bans , of his first mixtape (Memoirs of the Meek & Famous) take us to that part of town, where not to many voices and dreams are heard to be real beyond Dyckman or 168th Street.
As a new Latin American Rap Artist & Producer, Eckz, believes that giving your all into your passion and dreams is just the first step into making a change in your neighborhood and your industry.
So for Wash Heights,
let our voice be HEARD.
