Diallo Moss, AKA Diallo Beats is not stranger to the booth, the boards,or the notion of being a team player. This competent and well versed Producer/artist/Technician has managed to build a repetoire of consistent quality drawing on years of experience on both sides of the glass window and is able get in where he fits in just about any creative setting. As a youth Diallo's diverse musical sensibilities were cultivated due to the combination of a close relationship with his father, a railroad worker that owned a night club [Club Sibira] in Richmond's Shokoe Bottom before the corporate takeover of the area forced most of the black owned venues to shut down. His father had a very eclectic library of music ranging from jazz to soul, funk, r&b, Reggae, Calypso, go-go and early hip-hop music which introduced him to music from the likes of artists as diverse as Herbie Hancock, Ramsey Lewis, Yusef Lateef, P Funk, Zapp, Sly Stone, Isaac Hayes, Barry White, Bob Marley, Mighty Sparrow, Kurtis Blow, Run Dmc, Afrika Bambatta and many others. It was during this period that Diallo's love for music would take a creative turn, inspired by watching the D.J. all night when he attended his father's club and in turn starting his own record collection and honing his craft as a Dj around age 7 with his 1st paid gig at age 11 saving and working his way up from a homemade setup to professional Dj rig as he earned money from parties and landscaping gigs. By middle school he already had a nice bud for pushing his mixtapes at school and introducing peers to the freshest new music which garnered the attention of club and radio Dj's such as Sir Rj and El Bravador, of the legendary Z Rock Crew who had produced tracks for Audio 2, Mc Lyte and others and had a public access video show with partner Chis Brooks which featured Diallo as an occasional guest Dj, other guests included Whodini, Run-Dmc, Public Enemy and more. In high school he and Sir Rj would meet up at the famous Phono Booth record store while hanging with school buddy, former producer Andre Christian and store owner Artie Jefferson, a man with many connections in the music business. Rj introduced him to the club scene as a Dj partnering with him for several years to rock dozens of parties from Richmond to Lynchburg, Farmville to Charlottesville. Artie supplied them with all the exclusives [promos] sometimes months before thier official release, giving them an edge on other Dj's and keeping them in high demand, Artie would also be the one to get him his 1st major performance gigs along with his crew Disorganized Union, rocking stages in the some of the Mid Atlantic's best venues alongside major artists such as Busta Ryhmes, Fat Joe, Notorious Big, Foxy Brown, Ma$e, Lil Kim, Jay Z and many others, helping to solidify a strong local following as a Dj/Producer which led to his 1st major label credit on Mad Skillz 1995 debut album "From where" on the track "Tounges of the Next _hit", released on big beat records. The next year he was able to convice Prodigy and Illa Ghee of Mobb Deep Fame to appear alongside Disorganized Union member lil Roc on an underground single called "Silver and Gold" which was available exclusively on a mix tape he released that year and in the same year he scored his 1st radio hit with Disorganized Unions "Lintless" which recieved major airplay on power 92 and became a favorite of Dj Mike Street, Lonnie B and Danja Mouf, appearing on the 1996 Ep [The Summer Reign Project] and quickly sold out of the 1,000 copies that were ordered, though thier progess was put on hold due to the untimely demise and related turmoil surrounding the projects executive producer. During this period he also made his first venture into R&B production working with the trio of Antwan Whit11:50 PM 1/21/2013man, Gerald Thompson [who would later produce several tracks for Missy Elliot] and Harold Lilly, with whom he devoloped a formula that Harold would later employ in his songwriting collaborations with Kanye West. The trio [known at the time as Pro] had a single featuring Notorious B.I.G. originally recorded for Richmond based Power Records [Power Rec] that was remixed by Diallo to give it more of a hip-hop edge and the trio later signed a deal with Sony 550 which was lost due to an ownership dispute with Power Rec founder Frezzell "Dorez" Harris, who owned rights to the record and didn't approve of them signing the deal without him. Though slightly dissapointed by the hurdles he encountered, Diallo never gave up. Illa Ghee, who was by then serving a sentence in the Va DOC, introduced him to fellow inmate Warren Hicks aka Crooked Angel who was due to be released soon and he became a client of Diallo when he came home, forming the group NATO with partner Glenn aka G1 and executive producer Larry Johnson with whom they also combined to form Flatfoot records releasing the double single "Ghetto Heaven/Foul Life" in 1997, another single by an artist named Tuscon was also released around this peroid. By the end of 1998 there was some turmoil which caused the group to disband and Diallo quickly refocused his efforts into another emerging crew by the name of Bloody Reign, which would become the largest and most well known hip-hop collective out of the Richmond Tri-State area to this day, releasing several records produced and/or engineered by Diallo including the 1998 Ep "Nightvisions" and the single "Foreign Land", the 2000 Vinyl Maxi-Single "Ball out"/"Feind for that Thang". By 2006's 2 members of the crew would form a sub group [GMGB] releasing the single "Disco Balling" which boasted a remix with Trey Songs and was featured on MTV and BET before some dubious choices led to the Group being arrested in an ongoing criminal investigation putting thier music career on an indefinate haitus. Around 2007 things came full circle when Diallo and brother Manu formed Herbal Experience [the name he used for his productions since the mid-90's] as an LLC which led to several releases which featured Diallo on the production as well as the vocalist side of things including a 2007 solo album "get it or forget it", "The Herb-N-Music Experience V.1" compilation, 2008's "Road to respect" by CAl Pacino, and several Itunes singles including the self produced single "Trippin on me, "Unbeatable" by his children under the name the Triumphant Youth, "Thug's Prayer" by Illa Ghee and several upcoming projects including a full length collaboration with Illa ghee an upcoming project with HAPH of former RocaFella records dou Ranjahz, featured on the multiplatinum "Hard knock life" album from Jay Z. Diallo recently teamed up with multiplatinum Songwriter, Producer, Artist Lamont Fleming [whose credits include Chris Brown and Jamie Foxx to name a few] and joined forces with his Hit Mission production team where the dou has been writing some incredible music and stirring up quite a buzz garnering the attention of several successful, well known artists who have expressed an interest in enlisting the services of the team. The creative chemistry between Diallo along with Lamont Fleming is undeniable, the quality and diversity of thier combined expertise makes for a great formula and amoungst the company of other talented writers and producers Diallo fits comfortably in the mix, setting the stage for wonderful things to unfold in the near future.
