David E Beats is not your typical rapper. He became a self-contained musician, by teaching himself guitar, producing, and writing every song. He now raps and plays guitar simultaneously while on stage, and fans named him "The Rapping Hendrix". Bored by his native Washington D.C, Beats moved up to New York in 2009 to pursue a career in Music."I feel like I'm bringing entertainment to Hip-Hop. You should feel some sort of way after watching me perform or listening to my music", he once said during an interview. With his distinctive look, catchy hooks and theatrical music, Beats has quickly become one of the leading independent artists in New York City. Named "DX Next Artist" by Hip Hop DX , he was also featured on major Hip Hop outlets such as AllHipHop.com, XXL Mag.com, The Source.com. Beats participated in a SXSW show in Austin, Texas and headlined the DIY Bushwick Music Festival reviewed by the Deli Magazine. He was also reviewed in the trade, Music Connection Magazine; interviewed on BET's "The Deal"; feature an an online campaign for Jimmy Jazz, the leader in Urban Clothing; and performed at the Time Out NY Make Music Festival.

Beats first music video ever, "Maybe Tomorrow" received rotation on VH1 Soul, was also a Top 10 ranked video on mtvU.com and led to label interest from Universal Motown.

Beats recently formed The White House Band to back him up at live gigs (Comprised of bassist Cory Lonas, second guitarist Fernando Martinez and drummer, Elder Merchant). The band created their own genre of music "New Vogue": a combination of Rap, Hard Rock and Blues. The group's emotive, passionate sound and live presence at live shows make them a must-see band in New York City. They recorded their debut EP "The Method" with renowned Albert DiFiore, engineer/ Producer whose credits over the years include (Rumspringa, Francis and The Lights, Lenny Kravitz); scheduled for release on July 15th, 2010.
