Catherine Britt (born 31 December 1984) is a country music artist who has had success in both her native Australia and in the United States. She was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, United States in 2004. She has charted several singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in the U.S., in addition to releasing five studio albums in her native Australia. Her highest charting single, "The Upside of Being Down", peaked at No. 36 on the country music charts in 2004. Musical career edit: This section requires expansion. (July 2007) In 1999, Catherine independently released her debut EP, In The Pines. She was signed to ABC Country and recorded her first album, Dusty Smiles and Heartbreak Cures, in 2002. In 2004, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and was soon signed to RCA Nashville. Her American debut single, "The Upside of Being Down", peaked at No. 36 that year. She has been dropped from their roster without releasing an album in the U.S.
