The melodic post-hardcore quartet Burns Out Bright came together in Columbia, SC. Comprised of Isaac Stone (vocals/bass), Bryan Taylor (guitar/vocals), Chris Shirah (drums), and Forest Montgomery (guitar/vocals), the group spent time touring with acts like Stretch Arm Strong, Evergreen Terrace, and Bear vs. Shark before signing with respected indie Deep Elm in October 2003. Their label debut, the EP Distance and Darkness, was released in early 2004; it showed great potential in the band's songwriting ability that would be more fully developed on their subsequent full-length. Spring was then passed playing across the country on headlining dates. Burns Out Bright next released the dynamic and well-received Save Yourself a Lifetime in March 2006. ~ Corey Apar, Rovi
