Awaken the Empire’s fusing of Alternative Rock, and Electronic Noise quickly found them an audience in Los Angeles, CA where singer Damien Lawson founded the band in 2009. With a sound that plays out more like a cinematic movie score, and the groups constant use of encrypted codes, and hidden messages, Awaken the Empire is definitely not your typical rock band.
“If we were a movie, we would be somewhere between Donnie Darko (dark, schizophrenic, sarcastic, funny, complex) and Inception (mysterious, powerful, purposely confusing, romantic).” say's singer Damien lawson.
The response the band has received has been anything from typical as well. In 2012, their video for "Rise and Fall" beat out pop heavyweights Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Justin Beiber on the Mtv.com music video charts. The video peaked as the number 1 most commented, and the number 1 most shared video on Mtv.com. As if that wasn't enough, The single also went on to beat out Owl City to top the charts on Purevolume.com.
With their debut album currently in production, and their recent signing to Century Media Records, the possibilities look limitless for this enigmatic group.
