Career:
After finishing his education he moved to Los Angeles. Here he formed the musical group The Giants, along with Amani K. Smith, POMO & Marlow. During his time with The Giants, he gained the attention of DJ Nu-Mark, who was a talent scout for Correct Records at the time. In 1997, he moved to Philadelphia. After he moved there, he recorded and released a track under the performance name "Usephasan". The track was titled "Chemistry Teraqueous". He then went onto release the track KH:ImaN.Cip.8tor followed by his third in 2001 Klassic Soul, a white label vinyl. He also released the album Scienc Esquizit in 2003, under the alias of Usephasan. In late 2003 he dropped the name Usephasan, and replaced it with the musical alias, Autolect. The artist name Autolect, derives from two words, Automatic and Intellect. In 2005 he signed an Independent distribution deal with City Hall Records. This deal also included all previous works when performing as Usephasan. His first studio album, "Every Mans Universe", was originally due for release in January 2004. After several discussions he decided to release the album with TRC in San Francisco, which was finally released in 2005. After the release of his first album, came the release of his second album "Think Drink". This album and all the albums to follow were released under the independent record label "Required". The record label Required, is owned by Hasan and his brother. The success of his second album led to Autolect's first official single release, "Akh Fantastic". After the songs release a limited edition vinyl was released, including a B side track from 9th Wonder. Following the release of Akh Fantastic, Autolect recorded his third studio album, "The Man that Fell to Earth". Shortly after the release, another single "Movin", reached 3rd in the RapAttack charts in July 2007. The track was then included in the fourth studio album, which was released in 2008. The album was entitled "Between God and The Deep Blue". Alongside the track Movin', it included the hit "Right of Passage", which featured Mikial & Beyond, and was produced by 9th Wonder. In 2009, came Autolect's fifth studio album. The album was titled Celestines Progeny. No tracks were released from the fifth album. In 2010, Autolect released the next two singles, Becky's Bike & Attitude.
