The band recorded their debut full length record over the course of a few months in the winter and spring of 2010. The tracks were produced by Moving Mountains’ Greg Dunn, and later released on Deep Elm records as the album “Why Aren’t I Home?” in October 2010 to overwhelmingly positive reviews. Shortly thereafter, the entire band relocated to Asbury Park, NJ.
In 2011 Athletics recorded their sophomore release "Who You Are Is Not Enough" with lead vocalist of Gates, Kevin Dye. They returned to Moving Mountains' Greg Dunn for mixing/mastering. A single song in five tracks, the album features recurring ambient guitar motifs and its fair share of dynamic instrumental ups and downs. The boys released the album for "pay what you want" on bandcamp in June 2012, also to positive reception.
With the addition of Zachary West on bass, Athletics are currently writing their third full length album.
