Alazae has been performing in front of crowds since a very young age. While growing up, Alazae found herself immersed in competitive sporting events and dance. In order to cope with the stress of everyday life, Alazae developed an affinity for writing poetry; this hobby would eventually lead to her writing lyrics for her music. From the moment she first stepped into the sound booth she knew music was her calling. It felt natural and powerful--she was determined to succeed.
Even though she began her long journey through the competitive world of elite gymnastics, Alazae knew that she was meant to perform on a bigger stage. She realized her dream was to perform Music!
Inspired by artists such as Tupac, Eve, MC Lyte, Mia X, T.I., Lil Wayne, and Common, Alazae developed her own style, lyricism and stage presence. She later found herself on the underground music circuit in Houston, Texas. Soon after being discovered performing with Too Short at the House of Blues, she signed with independent label Long Green Music.
Alazae’s self-titled debut release ranges from club friendly songs like, “Bounce,” and “Price is Right,” but also contains uplifting and inspiring tracks like, “Still Waiting” and “It’s Alright.” Her album is based on “Girl Power” which uses poetry and emotions to project a voice for ladies in Hip Hop.
