About Alain Trudel

Alain Trudel (born in Montreal, Quebec 13 Jun 1966) is a Canadian musician, composer and conductor. He began his career playing the trombone, but has more recently turned to conducting. The Paris music review Le Monde de la Musique has called Trudel "The Jascha Heifetz of the trombone" for his skill with that instrument. Trudel has served as Principal Conductor of the CBC Radio Orchestra and Artistic Advisor of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. He is currently Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the National Broadcast Orchestra and Orchestre Symphonique de Laval. He is also Principal Guest Conductor of the Victoria Symphony and was conductor of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra from 2004-2012.
