About Aireline

The members of Nashville's Aireline had all been longtime friends before forming the band in December of 2000. After singer/pianist/guitarist Mason Frenzel and bassist Matt Mosley's band Caesar's Glass Box broke up, they started jamming with drummer James Foutch and guitarist Chris McMurtry, members of Harmonium, who had also recently split. The members were fans of one another's bands, and the jams where only meant to be a creative outlet for all involved. It was obvious that Aireline could go further, and the band started playing around Nashville and Murfreesboro at the end of August 2001. Their sound incorporates emo, space rock, and melodic alternative rock influences. Aireline released their debut album, Ocean Songs From the Year of the Horse, in May of 2003. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
